Central locking is vacuum. The door-boot tubes rot, the pump runs all night, the battery dies, and then the radio is ‘broken’ too.
Dash button works, remote does not = IR. Pump silent = fuse 6 or the pump. Pump never stops = leak, and the leak is in a door boot nine times out of ten.
Replace the A-pillar door boots as a pair, rebuild the PSE pump diaphragm if it is weak, and only then throw actuators at it. Aim the IR key at the handle, not the windscreen.
